MARK’S THREE TOP TIPS

Practical Sportsbikes (UK) - - On the Bench -

01

One of the easiest and cheapest ways to transform the character of your bike is to fit a different size gearbox sprocket. If you stick to the front sprocket you won’t even need a new chain.

02

Don’t think you need a 520 conversion for your 530 chain. Yes, it’s lighter but it will wear faster and you aren’t gaining than much power.

03

Keeping a chain clean is as important as keeping it lubed. Grit gets into the O or X-rings, lets the lube out of the pins, corrosion gets in, then the chain is scrap.
