Patrick’s three rules

Practical Sportsbikes (UK) - - Special Build of the Year 2018 -

Don’t listen to self-appointed experts telling you what can and can’t be done. Your own time is yours and good things come to those who persevere and think hard and clearly about what they’re doing.

Get the handlebar position right for where it needs to be for you. I knew the riding position I was after and wasn’t going to let the aesthetics compromise that. When you have the ergonomics right you can style the bike around them.

Having said that it’s up to you to decide what can and can’t be done, although there’s little point in trying to make a Triumph into a Ducati. And always remember“that’ll do”, simply won’t do.
