Preston Petty rides again

The world’s best off-road mudguards are now being made in Portugal by Polisport and will be distributed by Apico.

Preston Petty Products was started by US off-roader, and ISDST silver medallist, Preston Petty in 1969. He was washing his Maico and dropped a plastic bucket full of water which survived unscathed. He then said quietly to himself, “I sure wish my fenders were made of that.” A $1000 loan later he was in business. In 1972 he moved to a factory in Oregon, upped production, and the off-road world became far less strewn with smashed up bits of mudguard.

The “Guaranteed Unbreakable” mudguards, headlight and tail units, and number plates are available in 10 colours and seven styles. And they truly are top class. Go to prestonpettyproducts.com to see the stuff while Apico gear up their UK distributors.
