Quality in short supply

Practical Sportsbikes (UK) - - Bikes Of Your Life - Robert Brennan, Scotland

Kawasaki always fall short compared to other manufacturers. A friend wanted me to rebuild a ZXR400 for him that was in boxes. So I put it in the shed and set about finding my feet with the build. I noticed the frame was only tackwelded where you couldn’t see, and the rest of the welding wasn’t great either. So I told my friend to sell it on and look for something else that wasn’t green.

I had a TSX50 up the coal bings (slag heaps) and numerous stepthrus and other old Hondas, a GT250 as well. PB did an article on the kids up the coal bings playing on old mopeds years ago – real nostalgia, like your learner law article which was fantastic. I tried to use creosote as twostroke once and seized my H100 solid doing a burnout when I were a lad.

Happy with ZXR400 quality?
