A real bargain of a YZF750SP (if it’s real), plus RD and RG bargains

The first thing to know is that this is no ordinary YZF, it’s an SP. That means it’s got a close-ratio gearbox, fully adjustable forks, Keihin FCR carbs, a pukka single seat and way more kudos than a cooking R model. It’s been a track or possibly race bike too; it’s got a Maxton shock, a steering damper mount, Harris rearsets and is, allegedly, bored to 900cc (no proof, however). Yes it needs work -– the bodywork is a mess, but it runs sweetly and in nice nick could be worth £6K-plus.

I’d want to check that it’s a pukka SP first [Peter Day could answer this question –JM], but even if it isn’t, £1100 is dirt cheap. New paint would improve its looks no end. I’m really surprised it went so cheap. The buyer got a good deal.

If this is a genuine SP, then it’s a genuine bargain

Yikes! Purple screen alert. Paint sucks too

All the important stuff looks to be in order
