Bridge of sighs
Loved all the ’80s stuff in the September issue, especially the Chelsea Bridge stories. Anyone who was there knows that it was exactly like that, you never knew when something proper mad was going to happen.
There’s nothing like it now, everything’s changed so much. Even the Bol d’or is a shadow of what it used to be in terms of off-track madness. And that’s probably the last time I’ll go back to any of the places that used to be something to really look forward to. Motorbikes now mean trying to finish an RD200 resto with my boy, while booking a ferry to take me and the missus to northern Spain on the XJR13.
People still reckon the Spanish GP at Jerez is a hoot, so maybe try that next year. Love the mag, but you need more small stuff in it – that’s what the kids have to ride, and they’re the future. God help us!
Eeeeeeeeeeeeee, them were t’ days
