Minor jet fret

Practical Sportsbikes (UK) - - What’s The Problem? -

I’m currently refurbishing a Kawasaki GPZ750 A1 and it has been fitted with a Motad Neta 4-into-1 exhaust. I’ve stripped the carbs down and the main jets have been increased from 110 to 130. Is this necessary for the current exhaust as I have read conflicting reports? I would like to put the bike back to factory settings if possible. Airbox and filter are standard. Gary Hurd says: Usually with Motad systems no rejetting is required. So go back to standard and see what it does, especially given that you’re still on the standard airbox and filter. There’s no point in chucking fuel away on having main jets that are too big. There’ll be no more power and more than likely the bike will feel a bit flat.

Still a handsome-looking tool after all these years
