The 2021 Monster will not have Ducati’s famous trellis chassis which has been a feature of the naked model since it was first revealed back in 1993.
The new £10,295 machine supersedes the existing 821 model and gets a restyle, plenty of sophisticated tech as standard, and a Panigale V4-inspired aluminium ‘front frame’ that uses the engine as a stressed member. It makes just shy of 110bhp from its 937cc Euro5-friendly V-twin engine. All very well: but the Monster has been a machine that championed motorcycling fun at its simplest – the first model didn’t even have a tacho. What will Monster inventor Miguel Galluzzi make of it?
