New York

New York – a classic wedding abroad destination, New York legalised same-sex marriage for the second time in 2011. This fabulous city has so many timeless locations for your wedding that it can be difficult to decide! Central Park is a favourite choice, as there are so many different areas within it to exchange vows, both secluded and very public. The Brooklyn Bridge has an amazing view over the city if you'd like a simple ceremony with a great backdrop, or you can even marry on a yacht as you cruise around Manhattan. Another bonus is that legalities are simple http://marryabroad.co.uk/how-to-marry-in-newyork.shtml

Canada

Canada – in 2005 Canada became the fourth country in the world to legalise same-sex marriage with a law which covered all provinces, although some provinces had legalised it back in 2003. Marriage legalities and ages of consent vary slightly between each Canadian province, so you will need to check the paperwork for each one, although it is not difficult to marry in any province. Popular wedding locations include, Niagara-onthe-Lake in Ontario – the “wedding capital” of Canada; the top mountain resort of Whistler, and one of the “best cities in the world”, Vancouver, in British Columbia; the quaint town of Banff and the turquoise-blue, mountain-surrounded Lake Louise in Alberta. http://marryabroad.co.uk/how-to-marry-incanada.shtml

Portugal

Portugal – same-sex marriage became legal in Portugal in 2010, and they also changed the law to allow non-resident couples to marry. This has made Portugal a great alternative destination for couples wishing to marry in Spain, since you can't marry in Spain unless you are resident. Por tugal's Algarve coast is a favourite location with plenty of hidden coves, quiet beaches and top resorts; as is the capital Lisbon with its hills and historic buildings; and the pretty coastal area nearby, Estoril is ideal if you'd like a private villa wedding with a great view of the ocean. http://marryabroad.co.uk/how-to-marry-inportugal.shtml
