ABSOLUTE EXCELLENCE

VICKI SMITH IS THE AESTHETICS DIRECTOR OF ABSOLUTE AESTHETICS WHICH SHE SET UP IN FEBRUARY 2007 AND WHICH, SINCE THEN, HAS DEVELOPED TO BECOME A CLINIC OF EXCELLENCE PROVIDING A COMBINATION OF THE BEST AESTHETIC TREATMENTS

-

On the clinical side, we have a multiskilled team of eight which is made up of Aesthetic Practitioners, General Practitioners and a Consultant Plastic Surgeon. They are available for consultations and procedures at our clinic in Guildford, Surrey and at our new clinic which has recently opened close to Bond Street tube station in London.

It is widely known that the aesthetics industry is poorly regulated and this can make it difficult for patients to decide who to trust when considering having an aesthetic treatment. Absolute Aesthetics is a division of The Whiteley Clinic who provide minimally invasive treatments for varicose veins and are governed by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) as a registered hospital. As such, Absolute Aesthetics openly chose to follow and comply with the exceptionally high regulations set by the CQC.

The clinic offers a wide range of non-surgical and surgical treatments and products to improve the condition and appearance of the skin and body and to reduce the visible signs of ageing.

Aesthetics is a highly competitive industry making it unusual to find a treatment that is unique. We keep up-to-date with the latest technology and treatments but only invest in those that have a reliable safety record and still achieve optimum results for patients. Amir Nakhdjevani, our Consultant Plastic Surgeon is one of only two Surgeons in the United Kingdom who is qualified to perform eyelash transplants.

All new patients are encouraged to have a consultation prior to any treatments taking place. This is a 30-minute appointment and provides time for the practitioner to find out about the patient’s medical history, their lifestyle and also to understand their motivation for treatment. We believe that patients should make an informed choice about whether to go ahead with a procedure and the consultation is an ideal time for patients to ask questions and gather information before consenting to treatment.

The Clinic can get busy so we always recommend that our patients book in advance for their consultations and treatments. Waiting times for the different types of treatments vary and are often influenced by the weather and time of year. For example, laser hair removal is very popular in the winter months as patients get themselves ready for the warmer summer months and their holidays.

When I consider the patients that come to Absolute Aesthetics, I see people who simply care about their appearance. I don’t see it as vanity and think those that do should not be so quick to judge. One of the best aspects of my job is hearing from patients how their self-esteem or confidence has been restored. That’s a real positive impact that my job can have and that makes it very worthwhile.

We don’t have a typical patient that makes use of our services in Guildford. Women tend to favour the skin rejuvenation procedures such as skin peels, facial injections and platelet rich plasma whereas the most popular treatment for men is Electro-surgery which is designed to remove skin lesions such as facial thread veins and skin tags on the body. We will wait and see what becomes popular with our patients at our London Clinic.

There is definitely the potential for a lifechanging procedure at Absolute Aesthetics and I can think of several patients who would testify to this. My specialist interest is Electro-surgery and I have treated several hundred men and women over the years. A large percentage of those suffer with a condition called Xanthelasma; this is a build-up of unsightly yellowish plaques which develop around the eye area. Often these patients have suffered for years before finding treatment at Absolute Aesthetics and to see their confidence restored once the plaques have been removed is very emotional for both myself and the patient.

Why come to Absolute Aesthetics? We have a team of well-established and highly skilled practitioners working within a CQC registered clinic that has seven consulting rooms and two local anaesthetic operating theatres. And all of this is conveniently located just a few minutes’ walk from Bond Street tube station.

There are many aspects of my job that I enjoy. On the clinical side, I love seeing the difference and improvements that procedures have on patients. I have also worked hard at growing the business over the last seven years and feel immensely proud that Absolute Aesthetics now has a beautiful new clinic in the heart of London.
