It’s never too soon for a good garden spring clean. Even if you picked up leaves over winter, there’ll still be some lurking around. You may find a few hours with a jet wash will freshen up areas of the garden you thought were lost to moss and lichen. Next, get some compost to feed your plants – after all, this is the time of year when they begin to grow. Finally, a trip to the garden centre for a few early flowering bedding or container plants – such as primulas and pelargoniums (left) – to liven up the garden is well worth it.
