LOST FOR WORDS by Stephanie Butland (Zaffre, £7.99) Loveday Cardew works in a secondhand bookshop and prefers books to people. When local poet Nathan visits the shop, he becomes intrigued by her. Will spending time together let her accept her past and trust him? A beautiful book. Out 20 April THE COWS by Dawn O’porter (Harpercoll­ins, £14.99) This book focuses on three different women: Tara’s a single parent with a great career; Cam runs a successful blog, celebratin­g and discussing being a female; Stella’s struggling with grief. Then, their lives merge. An amazing book about choices and being yourself. Out 6 April HE SAID/SHE SAID by Erin Kelly (Hodder & Stoughton, £12.99) At a Cornish festival, Laura witnesses something happening between a man and a woman. Rushing to the woman’s side, Laura is later called upon to testify in court. When Beth (the victim) contacts Laura, she lets her into her life with disastrous consequenc­es. Out 20 April THE PEOPLE AT NUMBER 9 by Felicity Everett (HQ, £12.99) When Gav and Lou move next door to Sara and Neil, Sara can’t wait to meet them. She’s instantly impressed by this ‘cool’ couple and their wild life. Obsession and manipulati­on follows as the couples’ lives become entangled. I couldn’t put this fantastic debut down! Out 6 April KEEP ME SAFE by Daniela Sacerdoti (Headline Review, £12.99) When Anna’s partner leaves, their six-year-old,

Ava, stops speaking. After the silence, she starts talking about her other mum and a place called Seal. Anna arranges a visit to this mysterious island off the coast of Scotland. I fell in love with this book. Out 6 April THE GIRLFRIEND by Michelle Frances (Pan, £7.99) Cherry thinks that life’s set when she meets Daniel and they fall in love. But Daniel’s mother, Laura, has other ideas and thinks there’s more to Cherry than meets the eye. The lie Laura tells after tragedy strikes has big repercussi­ons. A fab debut with two twisted women at its core. Out 18 May
