CELEBRITY MASTERCHEF 2017 BBC One Bring out the oven gloves: Celeb Masterchef returns with 20 hot new contestant­s from the world of show business, music and drama to chop, slice and sizzle their way to glory. John Torode and Gregg Wallace preside with a line-up that includes Gogglebox vicar Kate Bottley and S Club 7’s Rachel Stevens. This six-week, 12-episode cookathon will rise to the entertainm­ent challenge like a fab soufflé.

IN THE DARK BBC One

Feisty-but-fragile female detectives are all the rage and Helen Weeks (played by Myanna Buring) is the latest in this adaptation of Mark Billingham’s crime novels. She’s coming to terms with pregnancy, a childhood secret and an unexpected tragedy, as well as two crimes. Detective Inspector Paul Hopwood (Ben Batt) is her headstrong sidekick in this dark drama.

Jenna Coleman and Tom Hughes (who are a couple in real life) return for the next eightpart instalment of Daisy Goodwin’s absorbing, beautifull­y filmed period drama about the life and love of a legendary monarch. Now a young mother, Victoria juggles parenthood and state duties, while Prince Albert vies for a meaningful role in the shadow of his powerful wife. Most of the old cast are back, alongside new faces such as Dame Diana Rigg and Martin Compston.

TRUST ME BBC One

Written by former doctor Dan Sefton, this gripping psychologi­cal thriller looks at the highs and lows of life within the NHS. Broadchurc­h’s Jodie Whittaker (left) stars as Cath Hardacre, a former nurse who was fired for whistleblo­wing. She reinvents herself by moving to Edinburgh and stealing the identity of a senior doctor. Don’t miss it.
