POMEGRANATE SPARKLERS, SPICED CIDER

pomegranate sparklers Ideal for those who don’t want to drink alcohol – or for those who do, mix with some vodka!

500ml (17fl oz) pink grapefruit juice 500ml (17fl oz) pomegranate juice 1 litre (1¾ pint) sparkling water
Ice
Pomegranate seeds, to garnish, optional
Mint sprigs, to garnish, optional
In a large jug, combine the pink grapefruit and pomegranate juices, then add the sparkling water. Half-fill 10 tall glasses with ice and pour in the cocktail. Garnish with pomegranate seeds and mint sprigs, if using. Serve immediately. spiced cider A fruity winter beverage, lighter than traditional mulled wine

1 litre (1¾ pint) dry cider Juice of 1 large orange 3tbsp Cointreau
3tbsp brandy
50g (2oz) demerara sugar 2 cinnamon sticks
6 whole cloves
Apple slices, to garnish
In a large pan, warm the cider with 300ml (½ pint) water, the orange juice, Cointreau, brandy, sugar and spices. Stir until the sugar dissolves. Discard the spices then ladle into 6 heatproof glasses and garnish with apple slices. Serve warm.
