STRONGER

This movie about Jeff Bauman, who survived the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing, could have been too sugary.

But a great script and a wonderful performance from Jake Gyllenhaal makes it a subtle, moving, must-see movie. Bauman lost both legs in the terrorist attack but was hailed a hero after he identified the two bombers. The movie details his struggle to cope with both injury and fame but in the end, as the title suggests, what didn’t kill him made him stronger. Out 8 December
