These are glamorous but can be high maintenanc­e and costly. A therapist glues individual lashes (usually synthetic) on to the base of your own lashes, taking between one and three hours depending on the skill of your therapist. If you look after them, they can last six to eight weeks, but as they fall out, you may want to return for infills. My maintenanc­e tips are: avoid oily skincare products around eyes a few days before the appointmen­t; try not to get extensions wet but, if you do, give them a quick blow dry; remove eye make-up gently; and skip mascara – you won’t need it anyway.
