WHY? Dehydration is visible in your urine. ‘Pale, straw-coloured urine means you’re well hydrated. Dark, strong-smelling urine is a sign that you need to drink more fluids,’ says dietician Monika Siemicka of the British Dietetic Association.
WHAT NOW If you’re dehydrated, up your intake – the key is to drink regularly throughout the day. ‘Aim for 6-8 glasses (250ml) a day, providing 1,500ml-2,000ml – ideally water but squash, juice, tea, coffee and low-fat milk count too,’ says Monika.
