Forget brain-training games

-

Despite what we might have hoped, all those puzzles and memory tests aren’t going to mentally rewind the years. Annabel and Susan found out that the tests on brain-training apps don’t translate into real-world tasks, so they don’t have any long-term benefits for your brain age. In fact, one app was even fined for overstating similar claims. SUSAN SAYS, ‘I found the games wildly addictive and kept going back to improve my score, but they did nothing to improve my memory.

Now I’ve deleted them all and, instead, I try to make sure I use the time in a more pleasurable way by reading and playing with my dog.’

TRY… going for a walk outdoors.

You can always use brain-training apps for a few minutes of fun, but physical activity or reading is more beneficial for your health.
