DEAR PRIMA… STAR LETTER
Iwas hugely encouraged by Ella Dove’s article about how a tragic accident was a catalyst for her first book (August). I believe that adversity can make us one of two things: bitter or better. It’s wonderful that Ella has chosen the latter. Her very helpful tips on writing and landing a book deal were equally inspiring. Karen Taylor
CRAFTING CHAMP
I have been reading Prima since my children were small and I have knitted and sewed most of your patterns. I still can’t resist them, even though my children are grown up now! Sylvia Lassman
BACK TO SCHOOL
Encouraged by your stories of women who learn new things and take on new challenges, I’ve decided to do the same! I’ve signed up for French evening classes at my local college, and I know that being able to speak the language will help me get the most out of the country when we visit my parents in France next summer. Lesli Hanson
SEEKING JOY
I was really impressed by Jen Crothers’ interview with Carol Kirkwood (July). Carol comes across as such a lovely, genuine and positive person, and I very much enjoyed reading about her happy attitude to life. So often these days people can be too negative and hypercritical. Well done for an uplifting piece. Gill Higgin
DRIVES ME MAD!
Why is it that when I buy something online, the company can take the money from my account immediately, yet when they have to refund the money, it takes up to seven days? If they can take the money that same day, why can’t they also refund it within 24 hours too? Hazel Newlands
ENGAGING READS
Like many working mums,
I don’t get much time to myself, so a magazine is a rare treat. I love Prima’s fashion pages, and
Felicity Blain’s story (June) about taking her sister Helen, who has Down’s syndrome, into her own home melted my heart. Charlotte Joseph
