Row 2 and every WS
row K2, *p5, k1; rep from * to end.
Row 3 *P1, k2, yo, k2tog, k1; rep from * to last 2 sts, p2.
Row 5 *P1, yo, k1, s2kpo k1, yo; rep from * to last 2 sts, p2.
Row 7 *P1, k1, yo, s2kpo, yo, k1; rep from * to last 2 sts, p2.
Row 8 K2, *p5, k1; rep from * to end.
These 8 rows form the patt.
Keeping patt correct, cont in patt until work measures 55(58:60:62)cm, ending with a WS row.
Shape shoulders
Cast off 9(10:11:12) sts at beg of next 4 rows.
Leave rem 26(28:30:32) sts on a stitch holder.
FRONT
Work as given for Back, until 8 rows fewer than on Back to shoulder shaping have been worked, ending with a WS row.
Shape front neck
Next row Patt 23(25:27:29) sts, turn and work on these sts for first side of neck shaping, leave rem sts on a spare needle.
Work 1 row.
Dec 1 st at neck edge on next row and 3 foll RS rows. 19(21:23:25) sts.
Work 1 row, ending at armhole edge.
Shape shoulder
Cast off 9(10:11:12) sts, patt to end.
Next row Dec 1 st, patt to end. Cast off rem 9(10:11:12) sts.
Shape front neck
With RS facing, slip centre 16(18:20:22) sts onto a holder, rejoin yarn to rem sts on spare needle, patt to end.
Work 1 row.
Dec 1 st at neck edge on next row and 3 foll RS rows. 19(21:23:25) sts.
Shape shoulder
Cast off 9(10:11:12) sts, patt to end. Next row Dec 1 st, patt to end.
Cast off rem 9(10:11:12) sts.
SLEEVES (MAKE 2)
Cast on 30(34:38:40) sts using 7mm needles.
Row 1 (K1, p1) to end. Rep the last row 7 times more. Change to 8mm needles. Beg with a K row, work 4 rows in st st.
Shape sleeves
Inc row K2, m1, patt to last 2 sts, m1, k2. [2 sts inc’d]
Beg with a p row, work 7 rows in st st.
Work the last 8 rows, 5 times more and the Inc row again. 44(48:52:54) sts. Cont straight in st st until Sleeve measures 46cm from cast-on edge, ending with a WS row. Cast off 6(6:7:7) sts at the beg of the next 6 rows. 8(12:10:12) sts
Cast off rem sts.
NECKBAND
Join right shoulder seam. Using
7mm needles, with RS facing, pick up and knit 10 sts down left front neck, k across 16(18:20:22) sts from centre front, pick up and knit 10 sts up right front neck, k across 26(28:30:32) sts from back neck. 62(66:70:74) sts.
Row 1 (K1, P1) to end.
Rep the last row 5 times more.
Cast off.
TO MAKE UP
Block pieces according to the instructions on the ball band. Join left shoulder seam and neckband seam. Sew sleeves into armholes, Join side and sleeve seams.
