● One 450g cake of Scheepjes Whirligig yarn in Sapphire to Blue 212 (80% wool, 20% alpaca)
● Pair of 4mm knitting needles.

MEASUREMENTS
Width: 50cm
Length (when worn): 70cm.
TENSION
22 sts and 28 rows to measure 10 x 10cm over st st using 4mm needles.

PONCHO
Cast on 106 sts, using 4mm needles and taking the yarn from the inside of the cake.
Rib row 1 (RS) K2, p3, (k5, p3) to last 5 sts, k5.
Rib row 2 K2, p3, (k3, p5) to last 5 sts, k5. These 2 rows form the rib. Repeat the 2 rib rows, 3 more times.
Work in patt as follows:
Row 1 (RS) K2, p3, (k5, p3) to last
5 sts, k5.
Row 2 K2, p4, (k3, p5) to last 4 sts, k4.
Row 3 K2, p1, k5, (p3, k5) to last 2 sts, k2. Row 4 K3, p5, (k3, p5) to last 2 sts, k2.
Row 5 K6, (p3, k5) to last 4 sts, p2, k2.
Row 6 K5, (p5, k3) to last 5 sts, p3, k2.
Row 7 K4, (p3, k5) to last 6 sts, p3, k3.
Row 8 K2, p2, (k3, p5) to last 6 sts, k3, p1, k2.
These 8 rows form the patt.
Work straight until piece measures 150cm, ending after a WS row and placing a scrap yarn marker after first 160 rows. Cast off.
TO MAKE UP
Darn in yarn ends and block referring to the manufacturer’s care instructions. Join cast-off edge to first 160 rows on RS of work.
