TARGETED TONERS

-

WHY Thanks to their glow-giving, skin-smoothing and retexturising qualities, acid-based toners have been the hottest product in beauty circles for a while now. Next-gen formulations, which target different skin types and are combined with complementary ingredients to ensure they’re even more effective, are generating a buzz.

TRY As a general rule, AHAS (alpha hydroxy acids) like glycolic and lactic are the best choice for tackling signs of ageing and for dry skin. Salicylic acid, an oil-soluble BHA (beta hydroxy acid), works on blemishes and unplugging pores. Sensitive skin types should look for PHAS, poly hydroxy acids, which penetrate more slowly and won’t irritate skin.
