YORKSHIRE SCULPTURE PARK, NEAR WAKEFIELD
Epic nature meets thought-provoking art in this inspiring West Yorkshire attraction. Set over 500 acres of historic parkland, you might come across a James Turrell bunker or a Damien Hirst piece among the 100 or so sculptures.
SPRING HORTICULTURAL HIGHLIGHTS: Enjoy banks of bluebells surrounding the sculptures in the woodland. This year’s major exhibition is by Portuguese artist Joana Vasconcelos, who often uses items associated with domestic work and craft to comment on women’s roles in society. Don’t miss her towering silver stilettoes sculpture called Marilyn, made entirely from saucepans.
