Let’s go wild for Strictly!

- JO CHECKLEY EDITOR jo.checkley@hearst.co.uk

What does autumn mean to you? Crisp walks in the park, nights drawing in, spooky fun at Halloween and, of course… Strictly Come Dancing! This year, we here at Prima are more excited than ever. Not only do we have the fabulous Janette Manrara as our cover star – who is about to launch into even bigger and better Strictly things (see our chat on page 8) – but also, our very own crafting expert and Dragons’ Den star Sara Davies is taking to the dancefloor. I first met Sara in 2019 at a work event. She was so warm, fun and down-to-earth, I instantly liked her. ‘I’ve wanted to do Strictly for as long as I can remember,’ she told me as news broke of her joining the show. I know she’s going to be fabulous because the viewers will see her, just as

I did two years ago, for the warm, lovely person she is!

And to add to our Strictly fun in this issue, we also have Bryony Blake – make-up artist on the show – revealing a few glitter and glam secrets in her feature on p64.

I hope you enjoy our real-life features in this issue, too. I was so moved by Tamsyn Wood’s story on page 30. Her strength, courage and resilience is truly remarkable. Claire Hatwell, on page 42, also stands out for her bravery in opening up about an extremely difficult topic. And, of course, when we talk about bravery, we must certainly include the amazing women in our breast cancer report on page 79, as they reveal what helped them cope with their illness. As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts on anything featured in this month’s Prima, so do drop me a line.

Wishing you a safe and happy month,
