HALLOWEEN HORROR

-

Q

I’m not a fan of Halloween, but I always get children knocking on the door. How do I let them know I don’t want to be bothered?

A

‘Halloween isn’t everyone’s cup of tea,’ says etiquette expert Laura Akano, ‘But there are ways to let children and their parents know you’re not keen. You could leave wrapped sweets in a bowl outside your front door with a note to help themselves. Turning off outdoor lights and drawing the curtains is a signal that is often respected, as is a house with no Halloween decorations. If all else fails, write a polite note and leave it outside your door, or go out for the evening.’
