TICKETS, PLEASE

-

Q I’m back at work in the office but only three days a week. I used to get a season ticket for the train. What’s the best way to save money?

A ‘New flexible season tickets have been introduced to suit new ways of working,’ says senior consumer editor Joanne Finney. ‘These are aimed at passengers travelling two or three days a week and allow travel on any eight days in a 28-day period, with no need to select the days of travel in advance. The tickets are paperless and can be stored on your phone. If you’re only travelling one day a week, daily tickets work out cheaper and if you’re travelling more than four days weekly, you’ll be better off with a conventional season ticket.’
