REVAMP A LAMP

Make a lamp look brand new and even brighter than before...

YOU WILL NEED

✽ Lamp base (wooden) with shade ✽ Sandpaper (optional) ✽ Chalk Paint from Annie Sloan

✽ Paintbrushes ✽ Clear Chalk Paint Wax from Annie Sloan (optional) ✽ Measuring tape (soft) ✽ Scissors ✽ Pompom trim and ribbon ✽ Fabric glue

TO MAKE

❶ Separate the shade and base if they are already attached.

❷ Lightly sand the base, if necessary. You’ll need to do this if it has thick paint, gloss or varnish on it, so that the new paint adheres to the surface.

❸ Paint the base in your chosen colour of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and leave to dry. If you’re using more than one colour, leave to dry between colours.

❹ Apply a layer of Clear Chalk Paint Wax from

Annie Sloan over the lamp base to protect the paint (if you wish). This will make it last longer. Leave to dry, according to the instructions.

❺ To embellish the shade, measure and cut lengths of ribbon and pompom trim to match the circumference of the shade. Glue in place using fabric glue and leave to dry (you could also hand-sew them in place).

❻ Fix the lampshade back on to the base.
