Too much screen time giving you tired eyes? Try Vision+

In the UK, we now spend a worrying 40% of our waking hours in front of a screen. Staring at our phones, tablets, laptops and TVS for about six hours a day takes a toll on our eye health, leading to eyestrain and dry, tired eyes.

More of us are now getting focused on taking better care of our eye health, whether it’s taking regular breaks from screens, reducing screen glare or just blinking more often to avoid dry eyes. Research shows that healthy eyes contain higher levels of both lutein and zeaxanthin, key

carotenoids found in the macula at the centre of the retina, the small area responsible for distinguishing colours, fine detail and central vision, and vital for activities like reading, writing and driving. Here, lutein and zeaxanthin filter blue wavelength light from screens by as much as 90%. Although we can obtain these vital nutrients through our diets, often from dark leafy greens like kale, many of us simply don’t get enough of them. To address this, Futureyou Cambridge, a leading developer of innovative, science-backed supplements, created Vision+, a patented blend of lutein and zeaxanthin with zinc and vitamin E in an easy-to-swallow, veganfriendly capsule. ‘Vision+ uses a unique delivery system in which lycopene extract from tomatoes ‘sacrifices’ itself to be oxidised. This ensures lutein and zeaxanthin can be delivered intact to the macula,’ explains Dr Miriam Ferrer, PHD, of Futureyou Cambridge. ‘Vision+ also contains zinc, which contributes to the maintenance of normal vision. Both zinc and vitamin E help to protect eye cells from oxidative stress, which can have a detrimental effect on eye health.’ 68-year-old Christine Hill from Cambridgeshire decided to try Vision+ after experiencing issues with her eyesight. ‘Within days I noticed the difference,’ she says. ‘I couldn’t believe it.’ ‘Where we live, we look out quite a distance across fields, and I suddenly noticed it was all becoming clearer. My eyes didn’t feel so gritty. ‘My sight was clearer, my eyes felt comfortable, and it gave me a lot more confidence while driving. I tell everyone about it. I couldn’t praise it enough.’
