TOUNDRA WRAP UP NEW CD

Spanish post-rockers return to their instrumental roots with their stripped-back fifth studio release.

Toundra release Vortex, the follow-up to 2015’s IV on April 27 via InsideOut/Century Media and guitarist Esteban Girón describes it as

“more rock’n’roll” than anything the four-piece have done before.

“It’s been three years since our last album and we wrote this one over a period of four months because we wanted to focus on the strength and anger that we had on our first album,” he reveals. “When we recorded IV, we saw it as the end of a cycle and [last year’s flamenco side-project] Exquirla was part of that cycle. After that, we wanted to go back to rock music so the songs we’ve written on this album are heavier, darker and deeper.”

Toundra will embark on a European tour this May with four shows already confirmed for the UK. For the full list of dates, visit www.toundra.es. NRS
