John Lodge has confirmed he’ll be playing some shows in the UK this April, ahead of an extended reissue of 10,000 Light Years Ago. Gigs have already been confirmed for Milton Keynes Stables (12) and London’s Cadogan Hall (13), with further dates expected shortly. And Lodge says he’s hoping to return later in the year for a more comprehensive tour.

“I started off in small clubs and I really like being able to be in front of an audience that you can be part of so I’m going back to the roots of who I am,” he tells Prog. “With the Moodies, we play arenas but one of the great places for me to play was the Royal Albert Hall because the audience is right by you. I do enjoy that.”

He reveals that the set list will include material from his most recent studio album as well as reinterpreted The Moody Blues classics.

“I’m exploring my songs like Isn’t Life Strange, and I’ve gone back and listened to them from the original perspective. I’ve tried to interpret them as I’d like to do them now, which is probably with a bit more energy than the recorded versions.”

He adds, “I’ll also put some deep cut songs on there like Nervous and Candle Of Life, which aren’t usually associated with the live version of The Moody Blues.”

Lodge will play Cruise To The Edge from February 4-9. For the full list of live shows, visit www.johnlodge.com.
