Prog

Ed’s Letter

-

It’s a rather special editorial I write for this issue, for Prog Magazine has reached the grand old age of 10 this month. That’s right, it was a whole decade ago that Prog first hit the newsagents’ shelves. How many of you reading this have been with us from day one, I wonder? If you have, then myself and the team thank you for your sterling support. And hey, even if you’re a more recent convert, thank you, too, for your support.

You may wonder why we’re not trumpeting our 10th birthday from the rooftops. Well, there’s the little matter of issue 100 looming on the horizon, too, a little closer to our big night of the year, which will be the eighth Progressive Music Awards. So we’re holding back the big celebrations for the BIG 1-0-0!

There are a couple of things I would like to draw to your attention, however. On page 46 we ask you to take part in our new Readers’ Survey. We want to know what you think of the magazine, what you really like, and what you’re perhaps less keen on, so we can make sure we’re delivering the right product for you. It won’t take up much of your time, so please take a minute to share your thoughts with us.

And keep your eyes peeled for a 10th birthday special; a oneoff celebration of the last 10 years of the magazine, which collates some of the biggest and best interviews from the last decade. Ten Years Of Prog will hit the newsstands on March 28.

So, thank you for sticking with us for 10 years. Who better to grace our cover than David Gilmour? I hope you enjoy our exclusive interview with one of the genre’s greatest ever guitarists. For now, prog on…
