IRIJ’S CELESTIAL NEW SINGLE
Former Eluveitie violinist showcases a full band sound ahead of her ambitious sci-fi concept EP.
Meri Tadi´c breaks a four-year silence with a new Irij single on March 29. Kiss The Sky is the Swiss-Croatian musician’s first recording since her second solo album, Culture Cura, and it’s taken from her upcoming EP, The Intrepid Child Of Venus.
“It’s an interplanetary tale about a terrestrial delinquent called The Child who’s exiled to Venus but returns to Earth to cause trouble,” she explains. “I’ll reveal more about the story with teaser trailers and I’ve even been working with a choreographer to bring the vision to life.”
For the first time since she left Eluveitie in 2013, Tadi´c is recording the new songs with a full band line-up, which includes drummer David Preissel from post-rockers Glaston and jazz bassist Manu Rindlisbacher.
“I really missed the loud guitars, drums and the rehearsal room sessions. It feels like I have a band again,” she says.
