TULL BOOK NEARS ITS RELEASE DATE
Jethro Tull tome is “done and dusted”, plus new album and UK tour expected in 2020.
Ian Anderson’s announced that the illustrated history of Jethro tull will go on sale in november via rocket 88.
“the signed special edition comes with a 7-inch single which contains unusual pieces i specially recorded for this,” reveals anderson. “i wrote a spoof poem called the Ballad Of Jethro tull which is a three-minute potted history of Jethro tull from the early days and it’s spoken over instrumental sections of relevant period Jethro tull music. the other piece i recorded is the extract from sir Walter scott’s poem Marmion that i often read at my Christmas cathedral fundraiser shows. the music was specially recorded by our keyboard player and organist John O’Hara.”
digital versions of both tracks are available with the classic edition of the book.
Meanwhile, the flute-playing frontman has confirmed that work is progressing on the follow-up to 2014’s Homo erraticus.
“i was wrapping up another song the other day. it’s slow going because i’m on tour a lot but i’m thinking the new album will probably be out september 2020,” he says.
anderson will play his annual Christmas concerts in december and there are plans for more tull UK shows early next year.
