What Prog did do, and continues to do, is introduce rock fans to this area of the musical sphere. You now have a magazine that brought prog out of its little corner and made it accessible to the more mainstream rock fan. So, someone into Metallica was introduced to this previously alien world. Certainly, it has given Gentle Giant a new lease of life and enlightened so many about the hitherto odd world of progressive rock.”
