“Obviously when it launched, one wondered if it was only going to be about the past, like a classic car magazine [laughs], and it’s absolutely not been that. I think the important thing about Prog and why it’s valued is that it has always been open, first of all, to lots of things being prog that people wouldn’t have immediately thought of as prog. Secondly, it’s always been very supportive and encouraging to younger players, which is very important. That actually is one of the central virtues of the magazine as a whole.”
