What will you do with your award?
Spoiler: not all gongs are going in the trophy cabinets.
Arthur Brown:
“I have a drain that’s missing a grate, and this is the right kind of shape.”
Daniel Tompkins:
“I have a cabinet where I keep all my trophies of war, and this will take pride of place.”
Anna Murphy:
“Some of us don’t even have homes, so Ivo [Henzi, guitarist] will get it. We can go and visit, like tourists.”
John Petrucci:
“There’s a section of my house where I keep awards and things, where I display things I’m proud of, and this will go in there.”
Jo Quail:
“It’s going to live in my music room. If you work on your own you can go through periods of real self-doubt. So this will remind me that I’ve done something right at some point.”
Steve Rothery:
“I think this is our third Prog Award. It’ll go in the studio with the others.”
John Lodge:
“It’s going right on top of
my piano.”
Chris Ingham (Ramblin’ Man):
“It’s going to go in the bog. I earned this.”
Dave Brock:
“We’ve got a studio in an old milking shed. It’s like an eccentric museum, with posters from all around the world, and plaques for the guys who are dead. It’ll find a home in there.”
Nick D’Virgilio:
“You know what? Greg started this band many, many years ago, way before I joined, and way before David [Longden, singer] joined. So he deserves to have this on his mantel.”
Jack Hues:
“I gave my mother all my gold records, but I’m going to hang on to this one. I will use it to start a trophy cabinet.”
Jordan Rudess:
“It’s going to go in Dream Theater Headquarters.”
Tony Smith:
“Put it with the others.”
Ross Jennings:
“We’re going to play frisbee with it.”
Nick Mason:
“I have a motor racing trophy cabinet, but this doesn’t belong in there. But I’m rebuilding a studio at the moment, so this could go in there.”
