DEC BURKE GETS SOMBRE ON HIS LATEST SOLO ALBUM
Ex-Frost* man says he’s not as “upbeat” on new LP.
Dec Burke’s new solo album Life In Two Dimensions is the result of an explosion of creativity that followed the death of his dad and the Covid pandemic. Set to arrive on September 24 via Gravity Dream Music, the record is a notable change of tone from the former Frost* member.
“It came about after sessions for the next Dilemma release,” Burke says. “When the guys left my little studio, everything was still set up in the round and I thought, ‘Well, I may as well just see what I can come up with.’ The songs just started coming one after another.”
He adds: “I’m generally very upbeat, but the lyrics have maybe a more sombre overtone. But there are a few more upbeat songs.”
Unlike some of his previous work, he describes the record as “very, very guitar driven” and he’s hoping to play some shows at festivals or as a support act. For more information visit www.gravitydream.co.uk.
