From enhancing yoga practices to activating energy centres, sound alchemy has a range of amazing qualities. Discover them all with Crystal Singing Bowls
Singing bowls have been essential to spiritual practices such as yoga and meditation for decades, but their appeal goes beyond the holistic. Schools, hospitals and therapy rooms are just some of the settings that have recently embraced singing bowls, particularly the crystal variety. Crystal Singing Bowls was the first to introduce Us-based company Crystal Tones’ quartz bowls to the UK. Here’s how they work…
The crystal bowls in the company’s eclectic collection are made from pure crushed quartz, heated to about 4,000 degrees in a centrifugal mould, while a blend of gemstones, minerals and metals is added to the alchemy bowls during the firing process. In both cases, the result is a beautiful instrument that looks as good as it sounds. There are several colours and finishes to choose from, including calming clear rose quartz and powerful solid platinum.
A bowl’s sound varies depending on its size. In many cultures, sound is believed to have healing properties, and the therapeutic value of music has been extensively researched. Crystal singing bowls are informed by these notions, and can have a positive effect on your mental wellbeing, whether it’s through activating your spiritual centres or simply providing a new avenue for creativity.
