The floral foam ring used here is 36cm (14½in) in diameter, but foam rings are available in a number of different sizes, so don’t feel limited to using the same size as us.

This piece used around 40 flower stems and 20 pieces of foliage, but there are no rules dictating what flowers to use or how many, this is just a guide to get you started. However, to keep it interesting, we recommend including a range of different shapes, textures and lengths.

Use a water sprayer every few days to keep your flowers fresh. Gently stick the nozzle between the flowers to mist the foam.

If you are hanging this wreath, the excess water will start to drain out of the ring, so suspend it over a basin for a few minutes before placing it on a wall or door to prevent a puddle!

This is one of those floral projects that you can keep on adding to, so stand back and have a look every so often to make sure the wreath is not losing its shape.
