When Frances Haugen quit as a product manager for Facebook in May last year, she took tens of thousands of internal documents along with her. The documents became the main source of a Wall Street

Journal investigation into Facebook last September, which alleged that the social media giant was aware that its platform is being used to incite violence and harm teenagers’ mental health. She also claimed it has failed to curb misinformation and allowed high-profile figures to flout its rules. Haugen disclosed her identity in a 60 Minutes interview last October, and has testified before the US Congress and UK parliament advocating for greater government regulation of Facebook.
