Jamie Raskin
Politician
A former constitutional law professor who has represented Maryland’s eighth congressional district since 2017, Raskin led the second House impeachment trial of Donald Trump in the wake of the Capitol insurrection. He is now on the select committee investigating the siege, seeking to hold the former president accountable for his assault on democracy. Raskin’s new book, Unthinkable, focuses on the traumatic 45 days when his son, just 25 and suffering from depression, committed suicide shortly before 6th January 2021. He is chief sponsor of legislation that would create a commission capable of removing a president under the 25th amendment. Having lost his son, Raskin refuses to lose his country too.
