I FOUND ELLEN TOUT’S Eco Worrier column about the ethics of knitting with wool (April) thought-provoking. Over the past few years, I have tried to reduce my plastic usage and my goal is to live as natural a life as possible. In the latest lockdown, I started knitting again after a hiatus of several years. I hadn’t considered the type of yarn I used until I read Ellen’s column. I had assumed that ‘proper’ wool would be best, without understanding the process and ethics of wool production. Lots of food for thought!
