DISCOVERING YOUR VALUES

-

Values are the things that are important to you. We spend a lifetime accumulating our own unique set of values. Our values are important – they influence our choices about how and where we invest our energy.

If you put energy into something that does not meet your values, you will feel dissatisfied and frustrated. Take some time to identify what really matters to you in the following areas of your life. Ask yourself, ‘What must I have in this area of my life to feel fulfilled and happy?’

● Family

● Personal relationship

● Social life

● Work

● Learning/development

● Leisure

● Community/environment

● Finances

● Health/wellbeing

When you have written what you need in each area, assess how near you are to getting your needs and values met, and what changes you could make to ensure they are met more fully.
