Lots has been said of the link between green spaces and mental health, but new research sheds light on how a daily walk can actually combat loneliness. The research, published in the ‘Scientific Reports’ journal, collected data from people living in built-up environments across the world, using the Urban Mind research app. The study found that when people were exposed to nature - including being able to see trees or the sky – feelings of loneliness dropped by 28 per cent.
