RECITE A MINDFUL MANTRA

-

‘Something as simple as a mantra can be a great starting point in helping to develop a healthy mind and gut,’ says Wheatley-mcgrain. ‘Sit quietly for a few moments each day and say, ‘May my belly be well. May my belly be healed. May I have peace’. Repeat during times of high stress, or during moments of calm, such as when preparing meals.

‘I strongly believe that compassion is the bridge between what we know and what we do. Most of us have good natural instincts on what we need to eat and do to support our gut health and our mental health, but compassion supports us to commit to the simple changes we need to make over time.

‘In fact, self-compassion has an anti-inflammatory effect in the body. Mindfulness and self-compassion are simple ways of showing up for our gut health and mental wellbeing.’
