Plan a full-moon walk with friends…

-

● Check the position of the moon by visiting a site such as moonphases.co.uk

● Walk your route in daylight first, to reduce the chances of getting lost on the night.

● Ask everyone to wear walking boots – you might not be able to see rifts or ruts in the ground – and to bring a spare layer, as temperatures can drop dramatically at night.

● Allow time for everyone’s night vision to engage – normally about 20 minutes in the dark.

● Take it slowly – you want to catch the smells and sounds of the night.

● Identify a spot where everyone can take a break. We always lie down and gaze at the moon for 15 minutes.

● Turn off phones and go silent. You can talk over a warming drink at the end! I promise it will be one of your most memorable walks of the year.
