Affecting country and furious rock from the artist FKA Kieran Leonard.

Good Luck Everybody – now available on vinyl – comes with quite a back story, with Brit Kieran Leonard moving between Yorkshire, LA, Nashville, New York and a studio in Stanley Kubrick’s Hertfordshire manor to create these 12 tracks. Veering between the aching country rock of Hell & High Water, the groovesome Rise Up and romantic kiss-off Long John Silver (which includes the brilliant line: “I’m always a genius when I’m talking to Johnnie Walker”), this is top-notch stuff that draws comparisons with Neil Young and Father John Misty. Best of all is Little Girl Scientist, which sounds like a great lost out-take from Beck’s Sea Change. TOM DOYLE Listen To: Rise Up | Little Girl Scientist | Hell & High Water
