RICHARD ASHCROFT LIVE SES­SION

Ab­so­lute Ra­dio, 25 Oc­to­ber, 9pm Nat­u­ral Rebel, Ashcroft’s fifth solo al­bum, has re­ceived glow­ing re­views and been com­pared to the The Verve at their ma­jes­tic best in the ’ 90s. The launch shows duly sold out within min­utes and a run of big gigs has been added for 2019. This visit to Ab­so­lute Ra­dio’s stu­dios sees Ashcroft play­ing a much more in­ti­mate Live Ses­sion in front of a hand­ful of lucky prize-win­ners and also chat­ting to Ab­so­lute’s Pete Don­ald­son.

HAL­LOWEEN CLAS­SIC ROCK PARTY

Ab­so­lute Ra­dio, 27 Oc­to­ber, 7pm Claire Sturgess pro­vides rock fans with their Satur­day night sound­track each week – and this time round on the Rock Party it’s a Hal­loween spe­cial, with sea­sonal sym­phonies from the likes of Black Sab­bath, Iron Maiden, AC/DC and Me­tal­lica.

TOM ODELL’s ’70s SHOW

Ab­so­lute Ra­dio, 28 Oc­to­ber, 8pm On his new al­bum, Ju­bilee Road, the Brit-win­ner mines the golden age of singer-song­writ­ers, in­clud­ing El­ton John, Ste­vie Won­der, Billy Joel, John Lennon and Randy New­man. This spe­cial show, with mu­sic hand-picked by Tom him­self, fo­cuses on the mu­sic of the 1970s.

SUEDE CO-HOST THE SUN­DAY NIGHT MU­SIC CLUB

Ab­so­lute Ra­dio, 4 Novem­ber, 11pm Suede singer Brett An­der­son and bassist Mat Os­man join Danielle Perry to co-host a late-night edi­tion of the Sun­day Night Mu­sic Club, with high­lights from the new Suede al­bum The Blue Hour and in­sights into some of the mu­si­cal in­flu­ences that in­spired it, in­clud­ing Scott Walker, Pet Shop Boys and The Psy­che­delic Furs.

THE BEA­TLES: THE WHITE AL­BUM

Ab­so­lute Ra­dio, 10 Novem­ber, 10pm Mark Good­ier’s Clas­sic Al­bum se­ries con­tin­ues with a show ded­i­cated to the 50th an­niver­sary of “The Bea­tles”, aka “The White Al­bum”. Re­leased in Novem­ber 1968, it found the band at their dark­est, heav­i­est and weird­est. All the Clas­sic Al­bum shows are avail­able to hear again, with the free Ab­so­lute Ra­dio App.
