DAN MANGAN

MORE OR LESS CITY SLANG, OUT NOW

Q (UK) - - Awards 2018 -

First album in five years for award-winning Canuck. After years of constant touring and four albums, singer-songwriter Dan Mangan parked up his van and opted for some family time that stretched to a five-year hiatus. More Or Less dials down the maximalist freak-folk of 2011’ s Oh Fortune as he explores his new stability as husband and father. The old tension of worrying about the future is replaced by the terror of losing the present – Peaks & Valleys nervously skitters about, with Mangan worrying whether he’s doing enough to hold his world together, while Just Fear sees him wondering if we have to occasionally break everything just to put it back together again. Downtime and downsizing has served Mangan well, allowing him to chisel out his best album yet. ANDY FYFE Listen To: Peaks & Valleys | Troubled Mind | Fool For Waiting
