Whatever happens in today’s game, one thing is certain: a new name will be engraved on the Women’s FA Cup trophy. Tottenham Hotspur make their first appearance in the final, while Manchester United have only managed one previous losing outing, pipped 1—0 by Chelsea last year. If the league game that the two played in April is anything to go by, this could be a corker. Then, first-half goals from Beth England and Jessica Naz saw Spurs leading 2—1 until Man Utd earned a last-gasp corner. With even reds goalkeeper Mary Earps up in the box, Spurs’ defence was in chaos and Man Utd defender Maya Le Tissier bundled in an equaliser to make it 2—2 in the 92nd minute. CERI THOMAS

Alibi supporting actress, it’s a head-scratcher that the sixth and weakest series of Netflix’s saga ended up as one of this evening’s top nominees.

Then there are the out-and-out snubs. No recognition for Gary Oldman or James Norton, who miss out on best actor noms for Slow Horses and Happy Valley respectively, while Ghosts — arguably the best-loved BBC comedy of recent years — didn’t get nominated either. Annoying, huh?

Oh well. Regardless of the results, hosts Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan will keep things breezy. FRANCES TAYLOR What it’s like to…: page 9 See Bafta features: page 12

Series six finds Canadian cop Charlie Hudson (John Reardon) having had a drastic makeover. The hair is longer and curlier, his suits abandoned in favour of open-necked black shirts and too-tight jeans. He’s strutting around like a Knight Rider- era David Hasselhoff, only with a crime-busting dog instead of a crime-busting car.

The changes aren’t just cosmetic, with this opening double bill hardly mentioning Charlie’s relationship with chief of forensics Sarah Truong (Mayko Nguyen). At least Rex can still be relied upon to pounce on prime suspects in slow motion, but these episodes generally feel much more deadpan than we’ve seen previously. Please, can we just have the old show back? DAVID BROWN
